Dear Incredimodders,
We've played and discovered lot of Incredimods on the web in recent years and we’ve had a lot of fun testing them. We have to admit you guys set the bar very high and it would be a shame not to share your talent with the entire Incredibox community. You've been asking for this for quite some time now, so we are proud to announce that it's for real: the best mods can now be published in the official Incredibox app!
We are so glad to have such an involved community putting their time and passion into our creation.
Keep up the good work and show us what you’ve got!
Building process
Building an Incredimod isn't quick and easy. You will have to bring on several types of skills: vector drawing, music making, 2D animation, storyboarding and video editing. You will have to do all that like real Incredimodders have been doing since the first mod came out: all by hand! To make things easier for you, we've written some
documentation with useful source files.
Testing process
During the building process, you'll need to quickly test what you are creating to see if it works. You can now import your mod directly into the app to easily try it before submitting it to us. This new feature is only available in the
Incredibox app released on Steam (desktop computers only). Mods that already exist based on the old app will need a few changes to fit the new file structure, but it's totally doable!
Submission process
Once you are 100% satisfied with your Incredimod, 100% sure everything works fine and 100% sure it complies with the
mod charter, you can
submit it to us! We will carefully check every detail of your mod and judge whether it fits in with the list of Incredimods available for the whole community (all platforms supported). There won't be room for everyone, so do your best! Can't wait to see what you will submit to us 🫣
Incredimods charter
Do your best
To maximize your chances of seeing your mod featured in the app, prepare it as well as you can. Don't send us a mod that is just a fork of an existing version with only minor changes. Only high-quality content will be highlighted. Be creative, surprising and precise. Check the work (and get inspired) by talented Incredimodders like PersonFromBrazil, Artemiy Kopych, Rem, Boogo and Seal and many others.
Don't send innapropriate content
Part of the Incredibox community are kiddos, so we will be ruthless about inappropriate content.
Come up with your own idea
Be imaginative: don't use or copy existing content you have no rights over. We'll be forced to refuse any content referring to other copyrighted projects or brands (meaning don't use famous songs, don't use characters from other games, don't use existing logos, etc).
Read the doc
You can find useful information and source files in
the doc to help you prepare a cool Incredimod.
Prepare your assets well
All your mod assets need to be cleaned and prepped properly. Use the right file format, image size, json info, video duration, etc… Check the
doc!
Try your mod within the app
Be sure your mod works within the
app available on Steam before submitting it to us. If it doesn't, we won't try to fix it before being able to test it, so the community could miss your amazing work.
Submit your own mod
Submit to us only mods you've worked on. If you've worked with several modders on your mod, choose only one single modder to represent your crew so we can contact them if needed.
Don't submit twice
Submitting the same mod several times won't speed up the process: quite the contrary!
Don't monetize your mod
Selling your mod or generating revenues with your mod is strictly forbidden. For the sake of Incredibox, modding must remain a fan's hobby. Continue to give your best to inspire others!
